Today's run felt unusually hard, even though the pace was moderate and my heart rate was quite low, but it was completely uneven. Maybe because it was the third day in a row. I'm not a daily runner anymore. But it was also very humid, which I'm not used to at the moment.

Manged to get out running while it was dry, though only a short run, because the little wood I had found to run in, had forestry workers doing some clear cutting. So route got cut sort and also rather slow as I didn't dare to run through the off cut branches laying across the trails and forest tracks.

I had made two mistakes with AnnenMayKantereit. First one, I somehow managed to click on play all their tracks and not just the wanted album - Alles Nix Konkretes. Though that meant that I got to listen to some tracks that I didn't know, like the sublime cover of Toxic, yes that one :) Second mistake is that AnnenMayKantereit is cleary music you need to sit down and listen to, preferable with good friends, log fire, great views and maybe a wee dram.

It's only been 18 months this month since I started running again in October 2023 after a 33 year break, but it feels like I've been running again for many years now.

Sense of time apparently changes as we age.

Garmin was complaining that I have been doing too little high aeroob training lately.
The Garmin Daily Suggested Workout advised me therefore to do 18 minutes at Threshold Heart rate so that's what I did .

It's that way that in the past, you only remember the good things and not the bad. It's the same with running courses. You just think, "Oh, that one goes through the forest so nicely, I could run that again." Of course, you forget about the nasty climb.
Unfortunately, the Kneipp pool won't open for another two weeks.

After a weekend spent taking care of others it was time to vent off and get a few km of rainy city in the book.

Teen stayed home, being a little sick.

Manage a regular 6.1 pace which his quite fast for my standard.

Also 170 steps/min

And 150bpm average

Forgot to say that was 8k

And almost 0 EG

Ran 9km today. The actual spring weather really made a difference.

I kept a steady pace around 175 bpm and it was perfect.

I got home not feeling exhausted, just happy and accomplished.

I think I will hit the 10k mark way before July.

Yes! A new personal best at 10k. I started way back (section H) so I had to overtake a lot of people. It was warm and windy but luckily I could keep up a pace of around 5' /km. And the final 2 k it's all or nothing . Lots of people along the course, shouting encouraging stuff. With my name on the bib it's easy 'come on Johan!...you can do it !...nearly there!...
And afterwards celebrating with colleagues .

What a glorious day out with the Lass, the mutts and Gloria Estefan. Oh and wild horses too, Paddy was thinking about herding them and wasn't too fuzzed. So we walked carefully past them at distance. They looked very much like Welsh ponies said the Lass.

Sadly I couldn't find on streaming Gloria Estefan's Let It Loose so it became came one of her many Best of albums (she's been busy). Impossible to not to sing and dance along too, with tracks like Dr Beat, Conga, Rhythm is going to get you, Get on your feet etc Lass said I looked like a lion because I can't dance, which is true, but Gloria helped me up the hills and jumping over a small water crossing ;)

I had a cramp in my left calf Friday night, so I postponed yesterday's run until today. It wasn't a problem, but I took it easy. It's great to be fit. 10 km in an hour without effort.
