Impressive case at #CharitéBerlin: In a 23-year-old female patient with severe systemic #lupus erythematosus, the #AutoimmuneDisease is no longer detectable after treatment with a cancer medication. Only time will tell if the results will last, but the case marks the starting point for further studies.

Beeindruckender Fall an der #CharitéBerlin: Bei einer 23-jährigen Patientin mit schwerem systemischen #Lupus erythematodes ist die #Autoimmunerkrankung nach Behandlung mit einem Krebsmedikament nicht mehr nachweisbar. Wie lange die Wirkung anhält, bleibt abzuwarten. Der Fall markiert aber den Startpunkt für weitere Studien.

Researchers at #CharitéBerlin, German Rheumatology Research Center and @MDC_Berlin have identified the immune cells that cause severe #kidney #inflammation in patients with #lupus. The study, published in the journal #nature, could pave the way for future antibody therapies.
