I am home today, released from hospital. I am better, but weak. I was very confused middle of the week. Thought this started with Covid. No, started with Flu-A. Couldn’t remember the doctor visiting the room. Still on antibiotics for my streptococcal pneumonia in both lungs. As I am 70 and immunocompromised, this has been double+ungood. Hair is a rat’s nest.

It’s good to be home. It’s an unusually beautiful day. A good friend brought me homemade soup, much more appealing than the hospital food. My 4 year old grandson told me on FaceTime I need to eat “veggie-buls” to be strong like him. Held up his arms and flexed them to demonstrate. He repeated this advice several times.

I actually feel weaker than at hospital. Perhaps because of the little bit more walking around the house.

Not strong enough to keep up with the News. So disheartening. #exhausted

alright, I do have to repeal some of the congealing anger.
I did get antibiotics, more prednisolone, a walk-in X ray referral, and BELIEVED when they observed I can speak in full sentences etc and I said "I'm compensating a lot rn."

Still angry, still losing it, still not here by choice. But fine. Today COULD have been more shit.

Monday/job hunting fatigue/bills we can't pay.

My family income (mainly Centrelink / govt support) has been about 50% of what is considered the poverty line in Australia for the past 5 months.

Over the past 24 months, we've had a liveable wage for 12 months. So 12 months of ... this.

What happened to savings? International relocation / Norwegian admin error leading to a large tax bill / 9 months of moving around trying to find a place to be.

Define: working poor.

That's the fun part of being involved in interdisciplinary contexts: There's only multidisciplinary resulting in me contributing to various projects and activities in different fields at the same time. Including an officer role in more than one scientific society (and having agreed to be involved in organizing annual conferences)

Everyone assumes I'm just part of their adventure, so please can I look at, revise, implement this thing until, say, tomorrow evening?

#BobTheDog had his turn at the vet’s today. As usual, he was an absolute asshole in the car, setting off the LOUD NOISE ALERT on my Apple Watch. We managed to distract him w/peanut butter for the blood draw and the shot. We had been working on desensitizing him to the bordatella intranasal vaccine. But the presence if 3 vet techs or something blew that away. He doesn’t bite, but he dies freak out a bit. #exhausted
