Another amazing hike today. I walked to a dagsturhytte, a day shelter perched on a rock above the sea with a cosy interior with books, games, a log burner and even some very cute Easter decorations. #Telecoms companies including Vodafone, O2 owner Telefonica and Orange have written to UK, EU and #NATO officials warning that a rise in #sabotage incidents was putting critical services at risk.
At least 11 subsea cables have been damaged in the #BalticSea since October 2023 and similar outages have been reported in the #NorthSea.

This is the first work I produced within my ongoing series "SEASCAPES" in 2020.

Portrait staged in front of a seascape without title by Karl Rohwedder-Ruge (1865-1940), dated on the first third of the 20th century. The painting is part of the collection of Nordfriesland Museum. Nissenhaus Husum. The artist is surrounded by single use plastic items typically found in public space.

SEASCAPE IV / Museum Kunst der Westküste, Föhr

Production in front of the work “Harbor Entrance” (1916) by Erich Heckel (1883–1970). The work was realized in the painting depot of Museum Kunst der Westküste (Föhr). The artist holds a 100-pound US aerial bomb under her arm which was recovered from the North Sea. The work is part of the artist´s ongoing series "Seascapes".

In the German North and Baltic Seas, there are contaminated sites of about 1.6 million tons of conventional munitions and 5,000 tons of chemical warfare agents dumped during World War II by military operations or afterwards by dumping (source: Federal Environment Agency Germany).

Realized with the help of SeaTerra GmbH.

The UK looks to shore up the safety of undersea pipelines amid the threat from Russia.

Protecting “critical undersea infrastructure” will be covered by the UK government’s Strategic Defence Review (SDR), which is due to be completed in weeks, a Ministry of Defence spokesperson told POLITICO.

There is “a real fragility” in energy infrastructure security, one expert warned.

Da ich immer noch kein neues Material habe, muss heute wieder ein alles Bild für den #meermittwoch herhalten. Wer keine Angst vor nassen Füßen (oder Beinen) hat, hätte dort noch schaukeln können. Obwohl, es war Sturmflut und so schnell wie das Wasser kam, war es wohl eher nicht zu empfehlen.
