I rashly returned to #Duolingo recently and subsequently started to receive the standard passive aggressive emails to encourage me to return which I find patronising and annoying.
A friend who studies French and Spanish recommended a site called

uhh ... looks like #Duolingo rolled out a completely new version of the Chinese for English speakers course today
and the migration messed up spectacularly (if there even was a migration for those of us who were part way through the old course)
previous units are randomly marked as done or not, and when doing exercises, it seems to think that I should already know some words or 汉字 but ... obviously not, those would have only been covered in earlier units of the *new* course, not the old one 
I'd just like to thank those of you who have boosted my post regarding the #Duolingo question. I seem to be making progress at this point, in spite of the quirks of the app. It would really be neat if they would include alt text on the images presented though. Voiceover lags it odd times as well; but overall, I think I'd give this app a three or four out of five. It's a bit clunky, but workable enough. Hi guys, I'm a totally #Blind woman interested in learning French to start with. In coming back to #Duolingo, I found that the first thing you have to do right off the bat is "choose the correct image". You can choose based on the audio you are hearing, absolutely, but you have no way of actually knowing what the so-called correct image actually is, making it pretty much impossible from an accessibility standpoint to know what words are being introduced and/or what they mean in English. Does anyone know of a good language learning app that is actually accessible? #A11y #technology #Language #French #Learning #Screenreader

I barely made it to 4th place and I still spent way too much time on this last week.
Duolingo očividně počítá s potravinovou krizí v americe. Jen nevím, jak zjistili, že máme doma křečka.
