Hi guys, I'm a totally #Blind woman interested in learning French to start with. In coming back to #Duolingo, I found that the first thing you have to do right off the bat is "choose the correct image". You can choose based on the audio you are hearing, absolutely, but you have no way of actually knowing what the so-called correct image actually is, making it pretty much impossible from an accessibility standpoint to know what words are being introduced and/or what they mean in English. Does anyone know of a good language learning app that is actually accessible? #A11y #technology #Language #French #Learning #Screenreader

Had a crack at getting the free tablet promised in the #Temu ads on #Duolingo. Load of crap; you still have to pay for several articles to get the free offer! They are lying after all, bugger it all.! Could've done with a tablet too. Meh!

I've just realised that my #duolingo streak is more than 6 years long... the habit is now so ingrained that I rarely cheat by using a streak freeze... How on earth did the numbers get so big?...

Spent so much time looking up facts about plants and Japan, that I lost a streak freeze on Japanese #Duolingo.

I completed the April challenge faster than 93.7% of all learners on #Duolingo!
So, yay me

Learnt a neat phrase this week though. 'Dw i wrth fy modd' meaning 'I am delighted', but it looks (to me at least) like 'I am beside myself' which is how I am remembering it.

Are there any alternatives to Duolingo that respect your privacy and generally just let you learn in your own way and at your own pace without a lot of frustration? I really miss Duolingo, but I got so tired of its nonsense that I deleted it long ago.
