@fanta Eu non teño Fairphone. Merquei un motorola de segunda man por 40€. Fixate si estaba como novo que inda tiña o plastiquito orixinal da pantalla (aparte de caixa e cargador orixinal). Soamente tivem que cambiar o sistema operativo a #LineageOS con #MicroG (e dicir, sin ningunha das apps de google) para ter un movil actuliazado e con bateria para dous dias mirando series. #consumoResponsable
I didn't buy that Token2 model because of its NFC capability and USB-C connector, but because it's the cheapest #FIDO2 token supporting Ed25519-SK. I did try out using it with my #Fairphone 3 running /e/OS with #MicroG, and it worked fine.
The silicon case I ordered along with the #Token2 key is unfortunately a bit too thick and thereby prevents the key's USB-C connector from being inserted properly into the FP3 if it's wearing its rubber case as well, which makes NFC a bit tricky too.
Honestly, I don't really get the point of NFC-enabled FIDO2 tokens / hardware #Passkeys: Obviously, their NFC support is meant for phones, but to actually use the key, your phone's operating system must support #FIDO2 in the first place.
Instead of connecting your #NFC token, you could just as well use your phone's internal FIDO2 storage (usually biometrically secured). NFC is not even useful for ungoogled devices, as #MicroG also has internal FIDO2 support (which I use all the time).

Aurora Store recently integrated app compatibility ratings powered by @techlore's Plexus and added support for Google Account Login via MicroG (enabled by default)! Among other changes.

@bshankar Depends on the actual NEED. There are 3-4 common paths that we see: 1. Remove the NEED, maybe it wasn't that important anyway 2. Replace Google Push with #UnifiedPush 3. Replace Play Services with #microG 4. Replace the camera/QR lib with a FOSS one.
Estoy probando #AuroraAppstore en mi dispositivo Redmi 9A. Quisiera no entrar anónimo, sino con mi cuenta, pero hay algo en #Google que me lo impide.

@Andi_Berlin /e/OS ist meines Wissens ein Derivat von #lineageos deshalb läuft es auch auf so vielen Geräten. Da komme ich gerade her.
Mir war es zu instabil: Nach Updates fielen Funktionen oder Apps ohne Vorwarnung aus. Kann aber natürlich auch an meinem speziellen Gerät gelegen haben.
Ein anderer Punkt: #microg statt Google ist super, aber manche Apps, die mir wichtig sind liefen so nicht (richtig). Jetzt habe ich Google in ner Sandbox, da spioniert es in Leere, aber die Apps laufen.
Wo es irgendwie geht, nutze ich Alternativen. Was ich ankreide, ist, das es Apps gibt, die unter nicht mehr supporteten Smarthones funktionieren, bei alternativen (aktuellen)Systemen (ohne root) den Dienst verweigern.
z.B. diverse Banking Apps, besonders dann, wenn ich eine ausschließliche Online Bank nutze.
Durch die Hintertür brauche ich also wieder #google Dienste.
Die meisten werden sich natürlich funktionieren, aber es gibt einige Apps, insbesondere Banking Apps, die evtl. nicht funktionieren. Oft kann man das lösen, wenn man #microg verwendet.

Ich möchte gern die #MicroG Services unter #LineageOS 22.1 installieren. F-Droid warnt mich bei der aktuellen Version 0.3.6.244735 (vom 23.12.24), dass diese für eine ältere Android-Version entwickelt wurde. Kann mir jemand sagen ob das ein Problem ist? Auf welche Probleme sollte ich mich ggf. einstellen? Kann ich mir mit der Installation etwas kaputt machen, oder funktionieren sie im Zweifelsfall einfach nicht und gut?

Get a NAS with #Docker support (like #TrueNAS. You can install web-services like @nextcloud which is a completely self hostable Google Drive/Google Docs replacement with addons to extend functionality.
#DuckDuckGo is currently the best search engine that isn't self hosted however #SearXNG is self hostable and very customisable.
#OSMAnd (customisable) or #OrganicMaps (straight forward) for Maps. Both use #OpenStreetMaps
#Android replacement, well Android. I personally recommend @calyxos which comes with an open source replacement to emulate Play Services called #MicroG
Although #Proton is technically a great service, CEO has come out as a Trump supporter so I'll leave that to your personal opinon. Another good service is @Tutanota
Kleines Update. Also ich hab das Handy doch noch mal komplett platt gemacht, um dann die #LineageOS Version drauf zu machen, die #microG schon mit drin hat.
Unfassbar, wie gut alles funktioniert. Eben noch die Banking-App umgezogen. Als App-Store verwende ich jetzt neben #fdroid den #aurorastore - also für ne anonyme Session zum Playstore. Also nicht gaaaaanz google-frei aber das reicht mir so.
Bis auf die Einschränkung, dass ich meine Threema-Lizenz ausm Playstore und die gekaufte DWD-App nicht mehr nutzen kann hab ich null komma null Einschränkungen.
Das alte Handy dient jetzt nur noch n paar Wochen zur Sicherheit, falls ich irgendwas vergessen hätte. Dann wird das auch befreit und dann zieh ich wieder um, weil hier am Ersatzhandy der Knopf ausgeleiert ist (geht eher Richtung 1st World Problem).
Arbeitskollegen sind schon scharf auf das Gerät, weil die das selbst austesten wollen. Mission erfolgreich :)
