Have you seen the Defold showreel with games made in 2024?
The @defold Showreel 2024 was published a month ago (totally went under my radar) and Kaiju Control Force is in there! :D Nice game engine indeed.
Defold 1.10.0 has been released!
And it's another huge release with many features, so here is only a highlight of few of them, check out more here:

Finished my entry in time for #PizzaJam!
There are three hours left so let's see what final polish I can still manage.
Play A Touch of Gold on Itch.io:

My current #jam is #PizzaJam (it's not about pizza. Well, the game isn't, anyway) and I am doing my first experiments with #Box2D physics in #Defold.
Some #conceptart for the #puppets to solve the logic #puzzles with. They are element-based: fire, ice, stars, and metal. I've had the idea a few weeks ago - there's always a jam to try them. It's very handy that this way I can tackle on new thing at a time.

In March Defold released 1.9.8 with i.e. many QoL improvements for Editor and enabled new possibilities for customizing workflow with additions to Editor Scripts!

So I'm going to try and complete this little private game for my kid with the #Defold engine which, by the way, I love apart from the scripting language. My framework will still be there if I feel the need to build something with it in the future.
I made an experiment: I powered through my deep aversion for Lua and tried to rebuild everything I made for my kid's small game in #Defold. It took me a week, working in my spare time, as usual, and I also managed to make a mostly decent start screen.
(small )
Switching from Unity to #defold for my game has been great. The instant loading times are huge. I can get a meaningful amount done just in my commute to and from work.
First tentative screenshot of my #farmjam contribution. With the progress bar debacle solved, I could focus on getting contracts done; adding the first rituals; scouring the net for free icons can be exhausting but is still quicker than making them myself.
GUI still sketchy of course, but ready to take comments. Two more weeks to go! Buuut there's Brackey's next week so fingers crossed.
Finally something to show for my #simulationgame for #farmjam over on #itchio: #conceptart for the main farm building. Otherwise tons of UI and system work that's just not interesting to look at (yet).
Using #Defold as before, I am working to get Druid to work - it's a bit scary with all the unusual code (from my perspective at least) but so far has not blown up.

Finished a huge part of the upcoming video - gathering all the data, writing it all down, creating presentation, recording video materials, so stay tuned, because soon you will see how many amazing things were added to Defold in 2024 (spoiler: it was a lot)
My dream to add terraformation to Witchcrafter: Empire Legends is becoming more real!
I'm tinkering - with new #Defold rotation and flipping possibilities a 4-bit autotiling like this can be done with as few as 3 tiles! (Below are few more combinations though)
Lead a team of survivors into the abandoned Kaiju Control Force facilities, where bioengineered rats escaped and research went awry long ago, in this one-screen cooperative arcade platformer for one or two players!

#HiddenObjects jam entry #indiegame "57 Bees" is out on #itchio now! Made in #Defold. Music and SFX by my wonderful friend CormalvaMusic - https://soundcloud.com/cormalvamusic
My first #solodev full(ish) game and I feel like a kid getting the training wheels off - "Look! I'm doooiing iiit!" - for something that's not all that impresssive, but I farmed a lot of learning XP here.
I would love to hear what you think about my games on my quiet little Discord: https://discord.gg/gQgmYMM9A9
