Working on forest generation again (rewriting the prototype?) and I have the baselines lining up but not the actual images yet, but looking good so far! Kinda!

I think my biggest fear as a very small game dev is the few people who play my game would stop doing it. 2025 started with several updates but dev is slower these days and in moments like this I'm afraid they would just go away...
Experimenting with flares that you can see in bright environments.
Testing further with bg drawing, it's alpha blending now, maybe color blend next.
What do you think? Does anybody know a trick for a smoothing the alpha visibility? In shaders?
The little indie game I am working on is releasing on Thursday! So excited to see the hijinks that people get up to with speedrunning these courses.
If you love sci-fi, challenging platforming, speedrunning or science puzzles, please do check out Bionic Bay!
Just got the email from Nintendo that I'm not allowed to be a Switch developer.

Hope you liked it, and hope you'll like the minigame. Next step will be creating the textures, and I might do that on stream pretty soon. #godotengine #indiegamedev #gamedev
realistic scaling vs. unrealistic (but visually correct scaling)
For this week's Freshly Squeezed Progress Report, I don't have much to report, mainly due to minor distractions such as filing taxes. But at least I nudged things along, and sometimes that is enough.
Got inspired during the weekend and accidentally worked on my game .... oopsie :p

Disappointed to realize that Silentwolf is presumed abandoned - and not working with Godot 4.4 anyway - and I don't want to implement something in my game that can be turned off at any moment.
Do you know any alternatives for having cross platform leaderboards in your game?
I added an 'outline' shader (copied this: https://github.com/Pybounce/rollable). I need to make some adjustments, but I think its pretty cool! What do you think?

Got some inspiration for the waves from https://www.slembcke.net/blog/WaterWaves/ , but the better-looking ones imply moving the vertices horizontally, which at first glance doesn't seem optimal for the simple physics I'm planning.
