Endemm project update:

1. The DVD ripping tool can now rip more DVDs.
2. Writing codecs will become easier.
3. ffmpeg linking in progress.

It has been some time since I last wrote about endemm - encoder and decoder for multimedia. Several things are work in progress to give the project a solid base before a plan for a first release can be made. I will highlight them in the comments to this post.

Now this is plain evil by Bigme folks. You really have a daemon that checks for adb and disables it every boot? So you have to go to developer options all the time to re-enable it manually? And then have a check for a file on the sdcard to re-enable it automatically? Why?

Want adb enabled when you plug in the USB cable? create a xrzadbtest123456 file on /mnt/sdcard/ and you are good to go.

HA!!! Found it! In fact, I found two:

This is the one I had in mind: Soekia, the didactic language model (soekia.ch/GPT/) It's in German and - AFAICT - uses a greedy decoding algorithm.

And here is a more complex one by Aymeric Roucher, using GPT2 beam search decoding: Beam Search Visualizer (huggingface.co/spaces/m-ric/be)

I made a new #thesis-art. The thesis is hidden in the drawer, but the #artwork is there for all to see.

In his work, Hannes investigated correlations of #decoding #brain activity (#EEG) across tasks, and surprisingly showed that there is no (or very little of) such correlation.

In the piece, I plotted, using the letters and words of his #thesis, the stereotypical filters for the different cognitive tasks.

How well can we measure, map, decode, and interpret brain activity? It depends on lots of factors. Dr. @russpoldrack explains in four short videos:

1. Measuring Brain Function
2. Mapping Mind to Brain
3. Brain Decoding
4. Interpreting Human Neuroscience Data

The Brains Blog · Brain Data & NeurometricsDr. Russ Poldrack reveals some puzzles about neurometrics and brain data. Maybe fMRI and other neural data do not reveal what many people think they do.
