Alright, #Linux people: I need to buy a new laptop. I've been on a Thinkpad T480s for a while, but the screen is dark, and the speakers are crap. I bought it for $400, so spending hundreds more to upgrade it feels dumb.
I want to buy used. I would prefer an enterprise laptop bc they're sturdy. I am aware of Framework, but I'm Canadian, so I'm going to buy from a Canadian dealer.

@eu_os @EC_OSPO #IMHO, it's overdue that @EUCommission & @bsi ban non-#FLOSS & #CCSS in #administration and espechally #CriticalInfrastructure.
@LWN At least #Debian published the full election results .. something that @osi refuses to do so? #OpenSource #FOSS #FLOSS #FreeSoftware
@fsfe Why have you not commented anything about the irregularities in the @osi #opensource 2025 elections? @kirschner can you comment? #FOSS #FLOSS #OpenSource #FreeSoftware
Another day .. where the @osi has not published the full election results ... It is not like they are being asked to do anything, just publish the results of the 2025 elections. https://codeberg.org/OSI-Concerns/election-results-2025 #OpenSource misses the point #FLOSS #FOSS #FreeSoftware #OSI
@ed what are you hiding?

"Nothing is more important than stopping fascism, because fascism is gonna stop us all." — Fred Hampton
Linux may be a lot more buggy than commercial software--it's okay, we can admit it--but it feels like it was designed for people to actually use instead of being designed to push some other agenda. No account to sign up for. No credit cards. No exclusive "store." Just software made to perform a task.
What can I say. I am a convert.
Before choosing your Linux system, you must understand that rolling releases and fixed-point releases do not behave the same: https://wirekat.com/regular-release-vs-rolling-release-which-linux-distribution-model-is-better/
