Spring is almost here, and since it's often considered "the season of love" due to being associated with new beginnings, perhaps this is a fitting post: a little #bridalfashion because why not? Model: Jordan McNeil. Taken with #fujixt3 and #fuji50140mmf2.8 lens. Camera settings: ISO 160, f/4, 1/250, 50mm (75mm full frame equivalent). Strobist info: single #godoxad200 w/round head attachment and magnetic dome diffuser at 1/4 power, slight camera left. #spring #seasonoflove #loveisintheair #outdoors #bridal #love #pastelaesthetic #photography #portraitphotography #model #fashion #fashionphotography #beauty #beautyphotography #outdoorportrait #bridal #fujifilm #godox #offcameraflash #strobist #florida #plantcity

Major resize of a 2nd hand dress that was great in every other way for the bride.
I had to add at both the side seams and the back zipper to get the needed circumference at their ribs.
Then the illusion mesh needed to be reduced along with shortening the back button line by 4 buttons and loops.
I then had to add in some extra illusion mesh- taken from the front hem - to fill in the missing circumference where the bodice and mesh would meet and use some of the dress lace plus extra from my stash to cover the seams.

This one is based on a quick rough minute-sketch I did the other day.

That's why it's important always having some paper and writing-thingy with you, just in case the brain farts some creative ideas.

This design will be part of the new series too. I have 12 now and bit by bit develloping them into 1 overall style, which I can then paint in big.

#BTS during our 2018 #photoshoot as @WTL catches amazing shots of the dress. Originally I made it while working with another local designer, with whom I was her main Sewist for over 15 years while also building my own business. When she closed her shop, she asked if I wanted to take the dress- I did!
It was used as a costume for a princess in an instructional dance DVD ( that’s another story! ).

Then a few years ago I redesigned it, removing formerly sweetheart neckline and pleated sleeve head to this off the shoulder line.
