Phew! I had to go down two whole sizes of needles to get a cast on that isn't wonky. I shoulda read all the comments on folks attempts at it. Most people only had to go down one size. After going down to 3, and it was still way too wonky, I went down to 1 and couldn't. I knit nothing on 1s. My vision isn't suited for knitting on that size. So I tried a 2 and that (mostly) looks good.

Continuing some socks I wanted to make for friends from podcasting meetups who seemed very impressed/enamored with my knitting.

This Elementary Watson pattern is by Sherry Menton using Knit Picks Felici in color "Country Roads" and Stroll in color "Forest Heather". There should be enough for me to get 2 pairs of mid calf socks out of it.

This is the second pattern repeat showing some cables and chevrons on top of the foot, after some other repeats we gusset and turn the heel.

I legit keep looking at my handspun stash in despair. Then I look at my fiber stash and it's bigger.

Idk what is the use of asking "how did this happen". But I am looking for a (handspun) yarn for a spring/fall hat and I have NOTHING. 😩

And I have many pounds of handspun fiber. Countless 1000s of yards/meters.
I will fix it. I am just in shock and despair. But I do love my handspun and fiber. I just don't have *space*.

beginner #knitting question - i remember i once knit a cardigan. it was meant to be slightly oversized but once i actually sewed all the pieces together at the end and put it on the whole thing sagged under its own weight down to my knees 😂

what did i do wrong? i did a swatch and calculated the "proper" dimensions but that didn't include the weight of the thing. is there a trick? i'm about to try a pullover and would like to avoid a repeat...

Started knitting and crocheting something with 2 mm needles and have decided that is the limit for my hands / fingers / eyes.

Anything lower is basically making lace / and or creating with wire and needle tools.

I have great admiration for those creating in more miniature than that - but it's not for me.

Nope.

Skogsro koftan 🌲 stickad i alpackagarn.

Help wanted: Finding a knitting pattern.

I had saved a link to some fingerless gloves/mittens pattern that had pride flag across them and a sort of star over the thumb area (if memory serves, it often doesn't).
For reasons (incompetence) I've lost the link and I'm trying to find it again without success.

idly wondering if i should give double pointed needles a try… magic loop is so handy (and saves on having to buy needles), but it gets frustrating to have to stop and pull the cord to switch sides, especially when working on sleeves and other things with smaller circumferences.

This post brought to you by the fact that I'm making a crochet shawl just because I don't want to go pick up 100 stitches for a sleeve and then rib 10 rows and then I'm done with my #knitting project, and so I've been putting it off for weeks.

#crochet is really neat when I just need to turn off my brain but would like a FO sooner than later. I feel like #knitting is more engaging (just because I know more techniques and feel much more confident taking on new ones), but takes a lot more effort where a FO is concerned.
