☝️this group is open to anybody who wants to connect in the Guelph-ish area for whatever reason.

If you're considering moving to the Guelph area and want explore and connect in advance.
Even if you just want to lurk and watch #intentionalCommunity building - I have leads on at least two physical housing projects that mostly just need to be peopled with the kind of folks who know how to build healthy community.

Things are shifting, it's time to gather the good-hearted people. 💪🧡

So, who wants to quit the #megamachine, build a #solarpunk #ND, #disability friendly #autonomous #regenerative #intentionalcommunity in woods, grow abundent food, medicine, trees to share with whoever needs it, host people who need a place to be, help heal whoever needs to heal, actually have time and spoons to enjoy living?

Not looking for arguments.

Seeking dreamers to live simply, learn skills, be uncomfortable, enjoy music, stories, art, campfires, singing, howling at the moon

Hey, friends. A quick reminder that next Thursday, we'll be hosting a solarpunk hangout over Jit.si for Patrons. We've rolled out a new $1 tier so that people can access this if they like and join in. You can sign up at patreon.com/solarpunkpresents

We're hoping to do these on a monthly basis, so we can create a bit more community, solidarity, and maybe even some friendship to get through 2025 together.

Hope to see you online next week!

🌍 FINDHORN , Scotland

"The ecovillage at Findhorn is a tangible demonstration of the links between the spiritual, social, and economic aspects of life and is a synthesis of current thinking on ecological human habitats. It is a constantly evolving model providing solutions to human and social needs while at the same time working in partnership with the environment to offer an enhanced quality of life for all."

Happy 2025, friends. We are excited to announce that we are rolling out a new Patreon tier... and it's only $1 USD! With this tier, you can access our new monthly video call / hangout, a perk that is included with all other tiers now. Ariel and Christina will alternate hosting these chats in their respective time zones, using the Jitsi video platform, and each hangout will have a loose theme or a few questions to get the conversational ball rolling - although it's certainly not required to stick to the topic ;)

I don't think any of us can say for certain what 2025 will bring, but it's getting real dark out there, and there's a lot that actively tries to break us up due to gender, race, class, etc so we stay in our own little silos and can't organize or even converse together. So we want to be intentional about curating community, especially amongst our followers and fellow solarpunks.

Anyway, here is the link to our Patreon, where you can check out our shiny new $1 tier if you are so inclined: patreon.com/solarpunkpresents

Hope to see you online later this month!

It feels rewarding when I write software then other people use it.

It feels extremely rewarding when other people start contributing code to make it better.

It feels rewarding when I organize a house or shop or kitchen then other people use it.

It feels extremely rewarding when other people start contributing time and effort to make it better.

I don't think I've previously seen such a clear parallel between these two hobbies of mine.

*Niche request, please boost:*

Looking for input and expertise in **how to legally co-own a multigenerational family home** where seven of us live.

Two married couples with kiddos, plus a mother-in-law, all on the same property, living in what is essentially a single unit.

Our goals:
* giving all parties a fair share of home equity, given that one of us paid more for down payment and the rest of us pay for mortgage;
* minimizing complication + taxes when oldest person passes away;
* not paying a ton of money to a lawyer to handle this
* still able to put some/all of our land into conservation, eventually

Ideas:
Tenants in common with a co-ownership agreement? A complex trust? A coop or LLC?

EDIT: I'm in Massachusetts, USA
