Massive Update on the Food Rescue front!!!

We worked out the contract issues with Food Rescue US (FRUS - https://foodrescue.us)and we just signed the contract!

We can now begin the rescue efforts in earnest!!!

This is MASSIVE!!!

This initiative started last November,, and while it's had a couple of obstacles, five months from conception to group formation to joining with a national org isn't that long.

We're also going to be joining Food Rescue Alliance (FRA - https://www.boulderfoodrescue.org/food-rescue-alliance/). They're a US based national "mutual aid of mutual aids" sort of thing. So we can join other food rescue groups and learn from each other.

I'd like to see if there's a state group to join as well. If not, I'd like to start one up. A lot of laws and regulations are state based and learning from other groups in our state would be amazing.

This has been a dialog though, albeit one where all of you are kind of talking around each other's points. Dialectic conversation will often have disagreements and isn't mutually exclusive with cooperation

I, for one, am tiring of the "is this solarpunk or not" posts. I want to see people living it, making it happen

Frankly, it's a bit disheartening to see two folks who I would consider embassadors of #solarpunk here on the fediverse missing each others points this hard.

Even more so when your lengthier texts indicate that your vision of Solarpunk is actually quite similar.

- Yes, positivity when discussing solarpunk is a good thing that will help the movement grow in the long run.
- Yes, empowering communities is a core element that's more crucial than tech.

Dialogue is the key, we've had enough of authoritarian patriarchs defining what we should see or post or think. Just respect other Solarpunks for their contributions just as you would like to be respected yourself.

Yes, @amici - therefore I used the „is rooted“. #Punk culture has never been about etatist & socialist nation states. Therefore, #Teded got it right in focussing on cities and communities instead of Parties and States.

Let us evolve beyond 19th century terms into a 21th century of bottom-up emerging #Solarpunk.

#Solarpunk is rooted in #anarchism, not in etatist #socialism. #Punk in the former GDR & current fossilist regimes of the left such as in #Venezuela or #SouthAfrica are making the point.

For Solarpunks, economic thinking did not stop with white males of the 18th or 19th century such as #Smith or #Marx. We are looking for a future with contemporary, dialogical & also female voices such as the great economist Elinor #Ostrom.
