Watched and enjoyed photography of Blueback 2022 film by Robert Connolly based on Tim Winton’s 1997 book.
Filmed in beautiful Bremer Bay located part way between Esperance and Albany, and about 500km from Perth.)

Each winter off the western tip of the #Caribbean island of Little Cayman, thousands of endangered #Nassau #grouper gather to spawn under the light of the full moon. The #fish pack the coral reef and when the ritual begins individual females dash out of the fray straight up towards the surface with multiple males in pursuit.

This particular image was taken in Bahamas, but I have had a soft spot for Nassau groupers ever since I encountered their friendly cousins at Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman. They are among the larger fish on many reefs and are so cool to see.
