If you haven't read a novel called The Fifth Sacred Thing, written by a peace activist called Starhawk, now would be a good time. I'm planning to get hold of a copy and read it again, along with the prequel and sequel novels, which I only recently learned about.
It's about how a nonviolent solarpunk community resists invasion by a brutal and expanding authoritarian empire. Due warning, unless you're made of stone, you will cry while reading.
@ASegar actually that doesn't fit with some of the good ones i met, you're right !
But with some others, it does ... There are many different clowns, not all look for the approval of audience or laugh, most are just sensitive presences.
What you say about people hiding their dominating process behind a mask 
is true - #Starhawk talks about that too - and rarely would i call them good as "clowns" neither. Even if it can look like similar 
FYI Starhawk is the author of a powerful proto-solarpunk novel called The Fifth Sacred Thing, which I highly recommend. There was an attempt to make a film version about a decade ago, which produced this proto video;

TBH one film couldn't do justice to this story. You'd need a trilogy, or maybe a steaming series.

What Starhawk is saying is that the opposite is equally true. If you want more influence, take on more responsibility.

I was wandering around a nearby town and found a lovely little used bookstore. After slowly perusing the shelves I settled on copies of #Starhawk’s Fifth Sacred Thing and City of Refuge - grandmothers of #hopepunk.
The bookseller and I chatted about my time working in a used bookstore in #Butte #Montana and the #LaborHistory there.

Je regarde la vidéo de G Milgram sur #witchtok, j'avais vu une vidéo intéressante de lui sur la #lecturerapide. Assez déçu de la vidéo sur le witchtok, très superficielle. Je ne vois pas à quoi elle sert à part se moquer.
Cela ne convaincra je pense personne qui serait intéressé par la #sorcellerie, et pour les autres, cela ne va pas très loin. La vidéo montre qu'il y a des arnaqueurs sur internet et que la sorcellerie ne repose pas sur des critères scientifiques cohérents, mais on peut être tout à fait d'accord avec ces deux éléments ET être à fond dans la sorcellerie / le new age. C'est un basique du #NewAge de dire qu'il y a des plans d'existence différents avec des lois physiques différentes par exemple.
Et la dimension féminine n'est pas étudiée, même si Milgram l'a remarquée puisque dans ses canulars, il se fait passer pour une femme. J'espérais un contenu qui aurait étudié les liens entre féminisme, réseaux sociaux et capitalisme qui conduisent au witchtok par exemple.
La cerise sur le gâteau c'est de dire que c'est totalement con de demander à une sorcière de maudire son violeur et que pour avoir justice il vaut mieux voir avec la police. Déjà on peut faire les deux ; ensuite pour ce qui est de se sentir réconfortée, je pense que la sorcière sera plus efficace... Pas par magie, mais par effet psychologique.
Et ça ce serait intéressant de creuser, d'aller voir les trucs de #starhawk, du féminin sacré, etc. Contrairement à ce que dit Milgram, il y a un historique politique et politisé, tout ceci ne sort pas de nulle part.

@cassolotl Life is all cycles and spirals. If you need a winter, spring won't be the same spring as the last one. That one is past (sometimes for the gd better). We'll have pushed forward and you can pick back up with us then if you want, or do something else entirely that may be a better use of what you have. IME, you'll know when you know and you don't have to know before then.
(A lot of my activist metaphors are Extremely Paganism, for which we can probably thank #Starhawk, lol)
