In Canada we call these sh!tbags Conservatives. Members of the Conservative Party of Canada had dinner with and celebrated these fascists in 2023. The German government has described them as, "a right-wing extremist organisation that poses a threat to democracy and the constitutional order."

Aerofreak, what is your definition of capitalism?

💯 agreement if:
a) you are talking about the almost completely unregulated mess the #neoliberal #extremists have foisted on us.
AND
b) agree that market forces/better mousetrap opportunities are essential to developing new, and improving existing, goods and services.

My POV: people are a complex mix of competitive and collaborative, and one of the powerful motivators is to solve problems. Any solution needs to build on both of those.

(Yes, there are those whose sole goals are money and/or power, but they are not the majority, even if they won in 2024. And a challenge moving forward is how to manage that. I think the New Deal through Civil Rights era show that it's possible to do so.)

They make claims at odds with reality and use eagerness to repeat them as a test of loyalty. The result is politicians acting in seemingly irrational ways, to the detriment of their own standing with voters and against the interests of the country.

Data on #DomesticTerrorism investigations indicate #FarRight #extremists have been a rising threat to Americans over the past half decade….The rate of increase in domestic-terrorism-related cases is eye-popping: A Feb 2023 Govt Accountability Office report found the #FBI tallied 9,049 such cases in 2021, up from 5,557 in 2020; 4,092 such cases in 2019; & 3,714 in 2018. In 2017, the year of #UniteTheRight, there were 1,890 domestic-terrorism-related cases, nearly equivalent to the preceding 4yrs.
