For the press pool:

President Trump, you’ve been subject to quite a few lawsuits over the years, civil, criminal, many instances.

You’ve arguably been afforded more due process during your career than any other person in the country.

Is it not important in a Constitutional democracy that others are protected by the same rights as you?

"It's already the🚨policy of the Trump admin to prefer dictatorships to democracies, extol torture prisons with no due process, & take no refugees other than white South Africans.

We shouldn't be surprised Rubio is reorganizing the State Dept around those values."
-Rep Malinowski

"Interesting that Rubio says he's closing St Dept offices that don't align with Trump's vision & those offices almost exclusively promote #humanrights, #democracy & economic freedom.

"Your daily reminder that🚨it’s not ever, in any way, been about rounding up “the criminals.”

"3 ways Trump's immigration crackdown could hit US citizens."

Trump admin officials are suggesting: deporting convicted US citizens & charging anyone -not just immigrants -who criticizes Trump's policies.

Trump's team tactics🚨(legal analysts: challenge Americans' #rights):

*Sending convicted US citizens to prisons abroad

*Putting critics of the admin's policies in jeopardy

*Questioning the authority of court orders.

Öztürk hasn't been charged with any crime/accused of breaking any law. SOS Rubio admitted his involvement: “We do it every day. Every time I find one of these lunatics, I take away their visas.”

A fed IMM judge determined: she's a flight risk & a danger to the comm. Her ATTYs: judge’s dec: based solely on the St Dept memo that “pts to no conduct of Öztürk’s except her co-authorship of an op-ed.”

That's why she remains locked up. Any other explan is a lie.

What every #despot needs is an engine to deal with their enemies, be it through #criminal #law or defenestration.

For either to work you basically need to have the entire #judiciary under your thumb and be able to define rights as you go.

If #rights are not guaranteed, #RuleOfLaw is not an obstacle. This means that having variable rights instead of #InalianableRights is the same as having no rights.
