They surprisingly installed separated bicycle paths in my street, and also made it so that the driving area of the street is narrower. This made my street, one that has relatively a lot of car traffic, a lot better, and yet, I fucking hate how noisy the traffic is here. Even outside of the honking, just the general background noise is unpleasant.
As @notjustbikes said, cities aren't loud, cars are loud, and Berlin would be so much better if they drastically reduced, at least, the area inside the ringbahn, the amount of cars here. But with the #CDU in charge in the city, that's not going to happen.

" DAF automobile"
Dutch small car popular in the ´60 's.
Not very impressing, design, mostly older people driving in it.
Made by DAF, who was/is more into trucks.
But it had the Variomatic-transmission, developed already in the ´50 's .
And : We will never forget an accident in our town, a collision between a small DAF and a large German still popular brand. No casualties.
The DAF could drive away by itself, the large car was total-loss ...
While most car companies fight the right to repair, we might get an open-hardware truck. I can't wait to see users try to push the limits on what's allowed on the highway.

Done. That's the underside, now covered with some "Bitumen" underbody spray that will also protect against small impacts.
This was a leftover can which went on fine and a new can which went on a bit blotchy. Guess you really need to shake it for five minutes. Oh well, blotchy protects all the better! :)
The inside got just normal matt black paint. That looked very nice but somehow the phone forgot to take a picture when I pressed the button
Trying out that Latvian "Rust-Off" rust converter. Works well, but not as nice as the Flag Paints stuff as it has no black pigment. No black coverage, just conversion. At least it goes on pale green so you can see where you have applied it.
De-rusted the Crossgolf's massive steel under-engine shield, then applied converter and next is paint.
New shield is somewhere around €160-200, so worth restoring. Used ones are just as rusty.

When mercenaries from the Wagner PMC, also known as the Wagner Group, first appeared in the Central African Republic (CAR) in 2018, many local women stopped going out to work in the fields. The reason? They were afraid of being raped by Russian soldiers.
I love it. A woodpecker fighting car culture.

BYD will release an electric kei car for the japanese market in 2026.
How do you make people buy your cars? Create models for the market that customers actually want. That's what Toyota did in US in the 1980s, and that's what BYD does in Japan now.
And that's exactly what US automakers are *not* doing here in Japan. So no wonder people don't want their cars.
