You can read all you want about writing, but the real test is to actually write something. Hence, a short #WritingPrompt exercise for those of you wanting to hone your craft.

The PetroSaurus (named that by some politician's daughter) was an engineering marvel. Designed to be 100%, it would never have spills, process in site everything, and produce zero pollution, it started operations in 2035. Such a happy day. It would be the last of its kind, though. One year later, the main drill broke an ancient crashed alien starship hull, and made its still active reactor blow up. Radiation killed most life in the planet. Such a sad day…

Their fans screamed like there was the end of the world. Their guitars were turned up to eleven to the factor of xxx. Booze flowed like the Niagara Falls everywhere. People would talk about last night gig for decades. Hopefully. The Heaven's Demons last concert was epic, but they had to go back home. It was time. The Boss called, and they had work to do. This was just a side gig for them. They had to get ready to fight against Hell's army soon…

"That Martian woman had no business to do it," said Mrs. Simpson, "no business at all. She promised us fully furnished rooms with an unobstructed view of the milky way, but instead of which here are those shabby rooms, looking into the Earth's northern hemisphere, and fully cloud-covered, at that!
