We found this articulated shell today, on a beach on Vancouver Island. Anyone know what it was? Maybe a marine isopod?

D'ailleurs #mastodon, je sollicite ton aide pour identifier cet arbre qui pousse dans ma jardinières depuis quelques années.
Can you help me identifying what this tree is?
Thanks - Merci beaucoup !
I've got another #WhatsThis for you.
This thing sat outside the garage. It's cast, open on the bottom, has a rectangular groove for sliding something into and three holes in the groove. It's somewhat heavy. There's also a flange at the bottom.
Obviously it has been used as anvil/cutting surface, but what is its original purpose? If it's a T-40 tractor part, I don't know where it goes on that.
Fixing up the back gate in anticipation of getting that tractor.
Found a bunch of massive steel chunks around the loose gate post.
Maybe the local rebels made a Soviet tank disappear here. But more likely it's parts of an old bulldozer, as I've found some other track plates and bulldozer size sprockets.
But I'm not sure what these big round chunks are. They are really thick and massive, I can barely lift one.
Well it looks like I’ve got this new server all set up, but just need to do some final tweaks #mastodonserver #selfhosting #whatisthis #amidoingitright
SOLVED: See bottom of thread.
It's about 30cm wide, has two independently rotating ceramic rollers with electrical heating spirals inside. But the routing of the wires restricts the turning of the rollers severely, so they can only rotate about 30°.
There's some elaborate ceramic covers on the wires and a metal tray for catching something between the legs.
It's clean, doesn't look like it was used for food. Maybe #sewing? I have absolutely no idea!
SOLVED: Probably a grain sieve for an old machine similar to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTvOcU6z5_Y
What is this? Another thing from the bathroom clearout. A holed metal sheet with a frame and two handles. Size about 1.2 x 0.8 m.
Doesn't look self made. The sheet appears spot welded to the frame and the frame even has a recess for the sheet.
Sieving something perhaps, but what? Or a coarse air filter for some giant machine?
Okay I need some help. What is this? I have seen this wagon wheel thing in several abandoned structures always in concrete. This one is from April 2021, the abandoned Keystone Mine, Goler Wash, Death Valley, California #mystery #keystonemine #deathvalley #help #whatisthis
What does this red cross symbol on the American flag mean? In rural South Jersey. I don't seem to be able to find the right search terms.
The thin blue line sign makes me suspect this is some fascist alt-right crap, but I don't know for sure.
In the same town, I've seen the "an appeal to heaven" flag that Alito flew to support the Jan 6 insurrection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_Tree_Flag
What is this contraption attached to a telephone pole in South Jersey? There were two at 90 degrees around the pole from each other.
Is this a survey prism? Is it in active use? If these are reflective, are they on the pole to prevent people from hitting it? Or is it just decoration? Why is it here?
Do I have volunteer rice growing in my yard?! iNaturalist suggests the answer is yes.

Has anyone seen rice growing in person? Is this what it looks like?
What is growing on the leaf of my dwarf black chokeberry / Aronia melanocarpa var. depressa? Is it a fungus? A gall from a wasp? How do I go about identifying it if I don't even know which kingdom of life it comes from?
It seems like some kind of underwater vacuum attachment
Has a garden hose fitting on top, open screen on bottom, some sort of valve inside, probably restricts flow to one direction. Slightly raised on corners providing a very thin gap.
Found it in my shed. Seems familiar but I don't recall anything beyond that.
Ps: google image search struck out.
Hat jemand ne Ahnung von welchem Vogel diese Federn sein könnten? #whatisthis
Please help!
Trying to figure out #whatIsThis ?
I think it's a kitchen tool, but possibly not.

Looks like lava cake so I gotta know.
