Somehow I want to switch to a Galaxy Fold smartphone. Smartphone, Tablet and desktop (Samsung Dex) in a single device. Dex worked really well when I was on the Android side and now it looks like the Fold could get me back. Second hand Fold 4 starts already at around 400€ in great conditions which could be perfect to evaluate if it really fits my needs and workflows or if it simply is a dumb idea… I love the idea of unfolding but it might also get shitty at some time. Also worried about how long this would last in general. I just watched so many YT videos and Reddit posts… Mixed feelings ;)

По случаю полукончины фолда достал с полки старый Xiaomi Mi 9T, который использовался уже несколькими членами семьи если нужен был телефон на замену.
На нём после последнего такого приключения стояла LineageOS 20 (Android 13).
По такому случаю обновил его до 21 (14).
И в целом даже как-то не могу сказать, что я особо чувствую себя ущемлённым.
Да, у него деградировавшая наполовину батарея и слабый SoC, но последнее заметно только когда процессятся изображения или видео - в игры-то я на телефоне не играю. Ну ещё чувствуется, что WiFI не 6 и не вывозит всякий жир.
Зато UX в LineageOS мне нравится гораздо больше, чем в вендорных прошивках - на фолде я страдал от того, что под него нет свободных ОС.
Короче, что-то мне подсказывает, что я и так какое-то время поживу и не буду заморачиваться покупкой нового телефона. А там может и фолд отремонтировать удастся.
Хотя учитывая как я соскучился по LineageOS, у меня такое ощущение, что починив фолд будет проще его продать и ждать когда заметно подешевеют фолды для которых есть свободные ОС.
И нет, тот фолд, для которого уже есть LOS - слишком проблемный чтобы покупать его за его неадекватную цену.
Короче говоря, иногда дауншифтинг - это полезный и освежающий опыт.
