I managed to make #VoidLinux work with Nvidia (before it wouldn't sleep when I asked it to or when I closed the laptop lid), by following these instructions here:

It took a few attempts, but I now have the discord flatpak running smoothly with working audio/video on Sway in #voidlinux. No x11 and no systemd :) - and I learned quite a bit about linux desktop environments that KDE Plasma thankfully hid from me before 
And that goes similar to #KororaLinux, and I doubt I'll be able to find something as minimal and expressive as #VoidLinux. Don't ask me how I know, as I've already tried a couple of times, not because Void didn't do it for me, but to keep my options open, just in case.
Meanwhile, for my primary #Linux setup, I describe #VoidLinux as an obscure distribution for enthusiasts, every time a friend asks what "Void" is. Having said that, with the last couple of years' worth of investment, nothing has ever been easier to use for me.
Every time I try a new #Linux distribution, there's always something new to learn, inspiring me to add an element or two to my own custom #VoidLinux setup.
@MostlyTato @cyberlyra Am I crazy? I answered a bunch of questions and then it suggested every Linux distribution available? If it displays ranked on suggested distros, it ranked #voidlinux first. I'm sure it's not wrong, but last time I tried Void my #arch / #debian / #nixos brain struggled. Maybe worth a revisit.

@Dustwin interesting. That's usually the opposite of what I and other people experience. Of course, I'm on #voidlinux so I don't get the snap experience that I could with something with systemd.
Over the past month, I've finally ditched windows, installed #Bazzite, then #Fedora 41, then #Debian testing, then Fedora 42. For all but Debian I set up my machine completely.
For someone who likes to tinker with my system in learning the hard way that these OOTB systems aren't really designed to be tinkered with, at least not under the hood.
I still maintain a #VoidLinux machine and it's been the most stable of all my systems. But Fedora is growing on me slowly. Flatpaks and all.

Tengo problemas para instalar cualquier distribución de #Linux que lleve #systemd en un ordenador HP X360 convertible que ya tiene unos años.
La única distribución que funciona es #AntixLinux y #voidLinux y no están exentas de problemas, porque si reviso el htop un procesador siempre está casi al 100% de uso, y se recalienta mucho.
¿Alguna idea?

#Voidlinux introduces itself as 'based on the Linux Monolithic Kernel', as if people know what kernels are, and understand monolithic vs micro, but just needed an introduction to Linux in particular.
@retrovulcano #VoidLinux es un poco particular, pero está muy bien optimizada, yo no soy experto, pero puedes usar la mayoría de aplicaciones.
#Trisquel tiene el problema principalmente con los drivers, porque solo usa paquetes libres. Al final es una #debian.

@retrovulcano hay varias distribuciones de #Linux españolas. Tienes a #VoidLinux creada desde cero, con su propio sistema de paquetería. También tienes #Trisquel, derivada de Debian, y una de las pocas que la FSF considera completamente libre. Sí buscas seguro que encuentras más, como #CuerdOS (también derivada de Debian.
Será por alternativas.
Sigo de #DistroHopping tratando de encontrar la optimización para trabajar con bajos recursos. Creo que tendré que volver a IceWM para ahorrar algo de memoria.
Con una instalación mínima de #VoidLinux con #IceWM arranca el ordenador consumiendo algo menos de 250Mb, lo que parece prometedor, y con un kernel 6.12.21.
Voy a probar con #VoidLinux a ver si puedo rascar un poco de memoria y rendimiento para el chiquitín.

Ich hätte am liebsten ein System ohne systemd, mit aktuellen Paketen, einigermassen schnell und einfach aufgesetzt, mit Festplattenverschlüsselung und mit einem stabilen Update Prozess.
