The classic and cruel collective punishment practiced by reactionaries everywhere.
The classic and cruel collective punishment practiced by reactionaries everywhere.
Globalisation has been great for those with capital.
For the average worker it has meant lower cost goods, yes, but also the destruction of earning potential.
A solid safety net and worker protections would have made this all tolerable. But America's history of individualism and racism meant the rich could block those (and further enrich themselves).
So, here we are. A conman has built a cult of millions by giving them easy answers and villains.
JFC! When will MSM stop being played by these liars.
It doesn't matter that the MSM hosts "hammer" them, or show facts. These Trump apologists go on air *to be punching bags* just to get their lies out. It's about counter programming and sowing confusion.
There is zero reason for a news program to host a proven liar or gaslighter. None! Doing so, is knowingly spreading disinformation.
"Our democracy" is more than just voting. It's having fairly elected representatives negotiating in good faith in a system of checks and balances.
THAT is gone. At least half the elected federal representatives don't care about constituent interests - and they've ceded all decisions to the #AmericanClownEmperor.
The administration doesn't execute the laws faithfully, they rule by fiat and fear.
And the courts ...just help clear the way
Even worse than that.
Natural disasters will trigger two actions:
A) good natured people will donate to relief efforts. Most money will come from workers who can hardly afford it. Virtually none will come from billionaires. Some people will be swindled by conmen
B) Unregulated conmen, including some large corporations, will take advantage of those hit by the disaster. They'll sell out for peanuts or pay above average for essentials.
There's a reason all the techbro billionaires are investing in AI and robots - and it ain't to bring jobs back to American workers.
Congrats #MAGA , you played yourselves
I fully expect Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act at some point this term.
My reasoning is simple - all that power is right there, and Trump has never shown the slightest self-restraint.
@politico @health-care-politico
Somebody must have pointed to the sign
You know, the one Trump shows every appointee. The one that says:
The Three Commandments:
1- Trump is always right
2- Your job is to break and cut everything.
3- Don't get any other ideas
Americans may have wanted to end globalization, but they won't like the result. Because the future will be built by the greedy billionaires behind AI and robot butlers. There's not going to be any new high-paying jobs.
Republicans will cry and wail about Laken Riley, but won't say a word about the four servicemen killed in Lithuania or demand answers what happened to them.
49% of those Congress people are ready to impeach and remove Trump. The problem is getting the 5 GOP reps and 20 GOP senators required.
So, with nearly 300 Republicans in Congress, there aren't even the 25 needed to end the madness.
My god, he'll literally and openly selling admittance to the USA.
Is it possible the big tariff announcement was all to distract from bad jobs numbers?
...or maybe SignalGate?
... Venezuelan deportations?
... Failure to get Ukrainian or Gaza ceasefires?
... Mass gov firings?
... Musk stealing all our data?
... Trump's corrupt pardons?
Take your pick. This is what the rest of his reign will be like.
If you saw this graphic with no background, you'd think Germany was the instigator - because they suffered the least harm.
But no! It's the #AmericanClownEmperor hurting the US far more than all but one other country. The idiot sees this trend and says "yes, more please"
If it weren't helping Trump accumulate power while hurting workers/citizens, I'd wish he does more tariffs.
And by the way, isn't it sickening that the pro-police candidate was indicted for corruption and then cut a behind-scenes deal to drop charges?
That has occurred to me. That this is the fourth major economic crisis in 26 years:
2000 tech bubble burst
2008 housing bubble
2020 Covid crisis (mishandled by Trump)
2025 Trump inflicted
This is not normal
Yes, as intended.
The tariffs are all about forcing other leaders to come begging to Trump to stop the damage. He just sits there and sees what they offer.
It's a mob insurance racket.
And just like that...
Trump makes election losses, #SignalGate , Venezuelan deportees, Ukrainian peace and the Gaza Ceasefire fall to the bottom of the news cycle.
THIS is why nothing sticks to the #AmericanClownEmperor
‘Reciprocal’ Tariffs: See Which Countries Have the Highest Rates https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/02/business/economy/trump-tariffs-chart.html
Well, this will boost domestic manufacturing
...of overpriced, crappy, dangerous products. The same as every high tariff country.
Billionaire business owners love a desperate, poor working class. Sickness increases the desperation. So does removal of all safety nets.
The only safety nets will be wealth and connections.
