#Putin has signed the law ratifying the strategic partnership agreement between #Russia and #Iran.
Unlike the agreement with #North_Korea, this document doesn't have a mutual obligation for military support in case of military aggression against one of the parties. The #Russia_Iran agreement obligates the parties not to supply any aid to the aggressor in that case.
#Moscow and #Tehran also won't join the sanctions of other countries against each other.

A friend sent me this picture of Tehran, Iran in the mid-70's when we lived there. The church where my dad worked is center left. A ski slope belonging to The Ice Palace (where I learned to ice skate) can be seen to the right of the church.
The road running from the bottom left to the right was Pahlavi Avenue, now ValiAsr Street - the longest street in the Middle East! At the time it was lined with tall trees providing shade in summer and was always cooler than the rest of the city!
