TomKrajci 🇺🇦 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️<p>Blue satellite?</p><p>I captured these images last night while my cameras were on patrol for Lyrids meteors.</p><p>They appear to show a blue satellite trail around 9:19PM Mountain Daylight Time, as seen from the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico.</p><p>Note that camera's color balance was set to 'daylight' and in the first image another, fainter, satellite trail is also visible...it's not blue, it's a typical color. Also note star colors. This camera over the years has shown itself to be accurate in rendering color in night/day photos.</p><p>Have others seen this before?</p><p>Sony a6300 camera, 23mm lens at f/1.4, ISO 800, 30 second exposures, using intervalometer with 31-second timing. Camera pointed near zenith. (Note that this lens, at f/1.4, shows stars with coma and astigmatism in the corners of the frame...so the stars look as if they have wings/tails.)</p><p><a href="https://nova.astrometry.net/user_images/12469295#annotated" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">nova.astrometry.net/user_image</span><span class="invisible">s/12469295#annotated</span></a></p><p>Please boost/share widely.</p><p><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Satellite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Satellite</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Mystery" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mystery</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Meteors" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meteors</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Lyrids" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Lyrids</span></a> </p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@sundogplanets" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>sundogplanets</span></a></span></p>

A new UK system to protect satellites against attack shows how global conflict has spilled into outer space.

The UK government has announced £65 million in funding for a new software system called Borealis which is intended to help the UK military defend its satellites against threats.

The Borealis system collates and processes data to strengthen the UK military’s ability to monitor what’s going on in space.

The west's failure to even try to stop #Putin is ramping #NorthKorea's #war machine to never before seen level.

#Europeans must step up to stop Putin now or real global war is unavoidable.

#Satellite images show what could be North Korea’s biggest #warship ever.

“The #FFG is approximately 140 meters (459 feet) long, making it the largest warship manufactured in North Korea. North Korea’s navy has about 400 patrol combatants and 70 submarines.”

ESA report warns of space debris and overcrowded orbit.

As the number of satellites increases, so does the amount of space debris in orbit, writes the European Space Agency in its latest the Space Environment Report 2025.

It warns that some orbits are becoming cramped and calls for the removal of space debris.
