The #pear #tree is in eco mode this year (these are all the blossoms we got 😂), whereas the #Mirabelle #plum tree goes all out. 🎇
Oh, and our #jostaberry bush is in bloom too! I only got it in autumn from my parents' garden so I didn't know what to expect. For those of you who don't know this berry, it's a cross between gooseberry and black currant. In German we call it #Jochelbeere (that's the name I would use) or #Jostabeere (*Jo*hannisbeere + *Sta*chelbeere - the German names of the "parent" fruits). It tastes just like you would expect and the bushes are thornless

It's spring time and thus flowers time. Things are brightening up around me so time to start sharing flower pictures.

Today's offerings are some Kwanzan cherry blossoms, some tulip magnolias, and some Japanese flowering plums. These are all popular trees in grounds around Wuhan, and the business park I'm in uses them extensively, along with others. (They're actually very careful to ensure that there are blooming trees most times outside of winter.)

Some more details in alt text.

I was feeling under the weather today so I took a nap instead of a walk. When I got home from work, our thundercloud #plum tree greeted me the best way it could.

Here's the first blossom of the season!

Tomorrow and the days that follow will yield more, but this was the first one (at least, the first near the ground) that opened up to say hi.

Thankful for small joys like this.

Here are some plum blossoms in various colors in the castle ruins park near our house, which is between Osaka and Kyoto, quick to reach both.

The other day on the train from Kyoto, I had a funny experience with young American tourists. One said "your bag is open." Then I smiled and said "just like it has been for 40 years ... Welcome to Japan." Big smiles all around.

Finally got a pictures of Japanese white-eye with Japanese Apricot flowers.

I used to go to Takaido Park every day, but the timing wasn't easy, like kids make loud noises, crows crawling loudly and turning around.

But today I didn't miss a chance to take pictures📸 of Japanese White eye🐦
