For a hot minute I thought I'd decorate the margins with an illustrative scene with wire inlay! Big ambitions to do a series of #LordOfTheRings illustrations with copper inlay.
I've landed on much a simpler geometric pattern. More doable.
Testing some vcarving techniques with parallel grain. It is not working out so well...getting lots of gaps. And then I broke the bit by hitting it with a piece of wood. Doh! Oh well...I'll work on it later. #woodworking #cncwoodworking #cnc #wood #inlay #cncinlay #cncrouter #router #tormach
Step three: sand the whole thing!
Step four: clean out the burl centers where the wood is soft and punky.
Step five: tape around the edges to keep epoxy from running all over my workstation, then mix up #ecopoxy and embed #turquoise within the holes.
Step six: wait. Ugh. The worst. Don't poke, don't make dust, just wait.
