Tonight in 1953 — HOUSE OF WAX was released by Warner Bros.

#VincentPrice starred in first color 3D feature film from a major studio.

In New York City #OnThisDay 70 years ago, Warner Bros. released the first major studio 3-D feature, Andre de Toth's House of Wax. A colourful, full-blooded remake of Michael Curtiz's (weirder) pre-Code classic Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933), it transformed 42 year old Vincent Price into the first post-war horror icon and became one of the biggest box office hits of the year.

@lcorriveau That’s tough. So many greats from both #universalmonsters and #hammerfilms. It’s like choosing your favorite children.

I don’t think you can go wrong with Hammer’s, #HorrorExpress (1972), also starring #ChristopherLee and #PeterCushing. It also has a mysterious creature.

#TheOldDarkHouse (1932) with #BorisKarloff is a favorite.

And about the same era, #HouseOfWax (1953) starring the eponymous #VincentPrice.

I have about a million more though.
