OK, OK. So I understand that 2002 didn't get me my T'Khasi Orion and that was to be expected, but now that the #TradeWars have started can someone sort one out for me? #BBS #DoorGames #TW2002

I'm updating my BBS, making it a place for fun downloads, door games, ANSI art and intentional community (no infinite scroll) It's evolving so check often! Use netrunner or any terminal to connect to bbs.holmadegames.com
One more thing! If you'd like to try this game, please definitely telnet to the Dark Force BBS! It's at darkforce-bbs.dyndns.org, port 1040.
To see Crapz! in its IGS splendor, you'll need to install IGS v2.15 or higher on a real Atari or an emulator.
(You can download IGS from Break Into Chat: https://breakintochat.com/wiki/Instant_Graphics_and_Sound_(IGS)#Downloads )
I neglected to mention that Crapz! is also a fully mouse-driven BBS door game, full of sound effects and animation. In 1991!
In short, Crapz! was a simple, but effective, demonstration of what IGS was capable of.
I'm so sad that Mr. Rodgers seems not to have made any more games after this. It would have been awesome to see something ambitious from him more in the TradeWars or LoRD vein!
This telnet mapscii.me
thing is pretty great! I usually get my butt kicked though #retro #retrocomputing #bbs #mapscii #games #doorgames
I never close Break Into Chat blog posts to comments ... I always hold out hope folks will stumble across one of my posts and add a cool memory.
Today was one of those days!
Jim C. shared a tactic/exploit he used back in the day when playing the BBS game "Global War". https://breakintochat.com/blog/2013/03/20/global-war-memories/
Practicing a round of #LAN / #BBS #Golf on my Linux based #WintermuteBBS via the recently installed LBGolf #DoorGame
Wish I had a valid registration key for this one, I really think it's nicely made ...
3/ LIGHTS! You know who really gets into #Christmas? Gary Martin, creator of TradeWars 2002.
For more than a decade, he's put together a computer-controlled light extravaganza called Parkside Christmas.

DID YOU KNOW: One of the few folks to develop new BBS door games recently is Shooter Jennings? (!)

Shooter has written three interesting, immersive games since 2015. I interviewed him ahead of the release of the first game, “From Here to Eternity”.
Monday will mark the 10th anniversary of my website breakintochat.com. I've been revisiting some of the old gems I unearthed over the years. Loving this reconstructed message thread from a game of SRE (Solar Realms Elite) I played in 1993 or 1994.

@davetroy I also had my own BBS but my parents most certainly didn't appreciate getting calls from angry teenager modems. They ended up getting me a second line lol. $17/month. I really enjoyed setting the "before" and watching my users play Legend of the Red Dragon, BRE, SRE and Trade Wars! #nostalgia #BBS #doorgames #bre #sre #LORD
