@squirrel people like you are a Problem!

Just in case you didn't get it:

  • @Codeberg isn't a "utility" like power, drinking water, sewage and public transport or road access. Access and useage of their services is a privilegue not a (human or civil) right!

  • Every platform has their rules!

  • Just because a big group or even majority has a certain political alignment doesn't make it less wrong or illegtimate. Raising the right arm at a 45° elevation was shit before 1933 and 1945; Just because something may not be criminalized by law doesn't make it less wrong!

  • You are free to choose a different platform anytime!

  • Noone is obligated to host things that violate their ToS and/or Code of Conduct. Or would you demand to sell Beef Burgers at a Vegan Festival and Pork Sausages in Jerusalem?

  • "#FreezePeach" doesn't mean "#ConsequenceFreeSpeech"!

@eloquence In fact I do hope #TaylorSwift gets some legal experts (i.e. wbs.legal) on that case and sue the account for defamation and "false suspicion" (as the image falsefully accuses her of a literal #felony [at least in #Germany, #France and many other places that don't do "#ConsequenceFreeSpeech ")...

@neoteotihuacan the problem are people and what they do to other people, not whether they use a website or a self-loader.

  • AR-15 are not "assualt rifles" and there have been no legally transferables involved in any mass shooting since at least 2000 AFAIK.

And yes, #KiwiFarms is a real problem, cuz "#FreezePeach" aka. #ConsequenceFreeSpeech fans are terrorizing people!

@nicholas_saunders basically advocating for violence in a fashion that makes followers of said propagandist do it without being directly attributed to them...

Kinda like wishing someone bad so followers feel inclined to make it happen...

OFC that works most effectively in places like the USA where "#ConsequenceFreeSpeech" is the norm...

@blaise @Gargron @Bundesregierung Because in #Germany, #FreeSpeech doesn't mean #ConsequenceFreeSpeech:

I mean, one can go out of their way and shout felonius lies re: historical facts, but then one has to accept the #ForeseeableConsequences...

Espechally if one's doing that basically full time and continues to do so even after several sentencings for fines and probation before...

Another reason why "#PublicDomain" is a problem but #0BSD isn't is because not every juristiction acknowledges or accepts Public Domain.

For example in #Germany, where the head maintainer resides. there is no such thing as "Public Domain" but only "Lapsed Copyrights*".

Otherwise it would be impossible to prosecute authors of obvious #hatespeech, cuz not every place agrees with the U.S. principle of what is essentially "#ConsequenceFreeSpeech", not "#FreeSpeech"...

Again:
We don't make the rules, we've to follow them whether we like them or not!

* which hasn't lapsed yet for #SteamboatWillie there because as per bilateral agreements, Copyrights don't lapse till 70 years past the death of the authors and that applies for U.S. works to - in return German Residents don't need to file for Copyright because that's inherently granted at creation and thus also applies in the USA!
