Pretty accurate summary of the west of England mayoral election. The previous labour mayor Dan Norris, was most focused on Dan Norris MP ; his arrest, Keir Starmer and the memory of Marvin Rees, former mayor
conservative candidate is on an "end the war on motorists" manifesto, which is ironic given the focus of previous mayors has been a new motorway junction. Maybe "open it for something other than strava velodrome segments" is his meaning

Wasn't sure about voting till I discovered that the Green Party is head to head with labour -could be a big outcome. Of course, this'll be ignored in the national media by a "reform is coming" story they've already written

The bus gate isn't 'controversial' in the least.

The only controversy surrounding it is its being used by a certain local newspaper trying to make careless driving - ignoring/not seeing signage - seem like a normal activity indulged in by all.
