Hi! I'm a new #SciComm member.

I'm currently finishing my MSc in #Environmental #Economics at UCPH. My #research focuses on incorporating learning-by-doing and site-scarcity effects into #renewableenergy #policy design. Broadly, my interests lie in quantitative research around #sustainability.

On my profile, you'll mostly find content related to my #scientific interests and policy discussions in these areas. My own posts will likely share insights from my #academic journey.

[en] #Harmful effects of #digital tech – the science needs fixing, experts argue

"... pace at which new technology is deployed to billions of people has put unbearable strain on the #scientific systems trying to evaluate its effects."

"This is in contrast to other industries where #safety testing is largely done in house."

"#technology companies often follow policies of rapidly deploying products first and then looking to “debug” potential harms afterwards."

The European Research Council, an #EU body that finances #scientific work, told Reuters it would double the relocation budget for funding #researchers moving to the EU to €2 million ($2.16 million) per applicant. That goes towards covering the cost of moving to a European institution, which may involve setting up a laboratory.

>2 centuries later, the system…has comprehensively failed. The people & institutions that are supposed to check #ExecutivePower are refusing to restrain #Trump. We now have a de facto #tyrant who thinks he can bend reality to his will w/o taking any facts or evidence into consideration, & w/o listening to any contrary views. Although the economic damage…is easier to measure, he has inflicted the same level of harm to #scientific #research, #CivilLiberties, #healthcare, & the #CivilService.

[The #SpaceIndustry in the 21st century] In order to comply with the #ParisAgreements, the space industry must reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 7% per year. To this end, new low-carbon #technologies must be developed, and priority given to major space missions aiming to revolutionize our #scientific knowledge.

These two areas of development are called #decarbonization and #frugality. Eleven French researchers, including @didier_barret, Olivier Berné, @jknodlseder and Aurélie Marchaudon from IRAP, detail their possible implementation in the French space sector: “Towards sustainable space research in France”: nature.com/articles/s41550-025

fossil fuels, we can limit global #heating to 1.5 °C (on average) above pre-industrial levels and mitigate the increasingly severe consequences of climate change. #Canada is a signatory to the Paris Agreement, and as such we should embrace our collective commitment to reduce greenhouse gas #emissions, in alignment with the #IPCC’s #scientific recommendations. Expanding fossil fuel #infrastructure would contradict our #international commitments and contribute to disastrous stresses on the...
