I just pulled out of an event in California at the end of the month where I was due to speak. The TLDR is that I no longer feel safe attending an event in the US where my presence is advertised in advance, give some of the very real threats made against our team in the comments. I’m just so done of the BS.

<edit> - While I DO live in the U.S (Oregon, which is luckly pretty darned safe) and I'm usually cool driving to California or Washington (again pretty cool, chill states), the issue was my attendance being advertised when I'm a content creator/journalist who has been the target of some online crap of late... especially since YouTube changed its comment policies on hate speech and trans folk.

#Palestinian #journalist Ahmed Mansour was burned in his tent on Sunday night, survived the fire but his life-threatening injuries were too severe to be handled by Gazan doctors without the necessary medical equipment. Ahmed died after a few hours. The picture shows him with his little baby-nephew who has not only lost his uncle but also both parents.
