#Jortage PSA — if you update to Mastodon 4.3 (not Glitchsoc or any downstream forks of it), then media will fail to load due to a new restrictive Content-Security-Policy. I heard people discussing this before, and apparently this never got resolved.

Glitch allows you to specify EXTRA_DATA_HOSTS, and this has been in our instructions for a while, but vanilla has no equivalent. Instead for now you will need to edit this file to add "blob.jortage.com" to the media_hosts array: github.com/mastodon/mastodon/b

#MastoAdmin

If you use #Jortage and you upgraded to Mastodon v4.3.0, your multimedia could stop working, because of this commit: github.com/mastodon/mastodon/c

The redirection from pool-api.jortage.com to blob.jortage.com messes things up.

So, if you need a solution (at least for now):
1. replace "app/lib/content_security_policy.rb" with Glitchsoc's
2. add:
EXTRA_DATA_HOSTS=blob.jortage.com
to your .env.production
3. restart mastodon processes

(At least that worked for me)

Cheers!

I run the #Jortage project on my own, providing media storage for 92 instances, and am in the middle of an expensive move after a major life event and have very little current income.

Every month, due to the nature of social media storage, the project gets more expensive. Our CDN fees are graciously covered by #Fastly for free via #FastForward, but storage is our largest expense by far.

We're currently $58 in the hole — please pitch in if you can! subscriptions.helcim.com/subsc
