Yesssss.

I got my first Evercade tech for Christmas (the Taito Super Pocket) and in the last 4 months my Evercade Collection has just been expanding and expanding.
Feels good to have a system to collect for again.

Picked up some more #Evercade carts and... Holy smokes are these games hard.

Maybe it's the controller on this tiny thing, or the tiny screen, or I lack the skills, or the games are just meant to be brutal.

Some of these things are just instadeath, game over, retry.

Anyone ever played Battle Chopper? What is the point of the life bar in that game?

I like a hard game, and I'll try and finish them, but these bad boys were clearly designed to eat quarters.

One of the least talked about features of the Evercade VS is that with a special cable you can connect the original Evercade handheld and use it as a controller!

Sadly this feature was never completely explored and has been dropped from the new EXP handheld models.

It took some doing and some save state spamming but I beat Puzzle Bobble.

You can use almost any USB controller, but I wanted a 2nd official one, and the original Evercade VS controller was about $20 cheaper so it was a no-brainer.
Though the red cable sure stands out..!

Esoteric question:

Does anyone know how to put Asteroids Deluxe into self-test mode when it's being emulated? It's running on an Evercade table top machine. I think it was a physical on / off switch which you flipped before restarting on the original game cabinets, but I don't know how to make that happen on the Evercade. Asking for a person who asked me, and I'm stumped.

I set up a TV radio station at my place so I can transmit video to my CRT. Now I can play pretty much any of my systems on my tube TV - seen here playing my new Evercade VS on my analog TV over radio.

Another cool benefit to my new Evercade VS is that the controllers are USB, so you get really nice classically styled gamepads for PC!
I never even had to remap anything

I got the Evercade-compatible Super Pocket for Christmas and since then my collection has grown steadily by the day.
I'm Evercade-pilled now. Evercadecore. I'm in my Evercade era now.
