One of those drizzly lazy productive days, very festina lente (make haste slowly). Got the history (broadly construed), science fiction, and science sorted and shelved. Lots of fodder for the LFL, too! Mother reminded me that I don't have to shelve everything, hence there are boxes of books which aren't going to Gurney House, other things being equal.

After as few nights of this (I am a slow) figured out that the cats had figured out how to open the door to the ever alluring garage if and when it's not securely latched. Debating whether it's more efficient to add a new more Newtons to the tug, or to test-push to gauge the minimum Newtons necessary this is the way my mind works

Convinced there's a cabal to install electrical outlets where least convenient.

The new lamp is quietly elegant and is very much my aesthetic.

Mother could neither receive nor send email. I rounded up the usual suspects. Independently powered down Theseus 1 for my own reasons and went to bed. Find the the mail had gone through, a misconfigured torrc having had blocked it, which was behavior I had not seen before. So it was zebras...

Mother asked me to reset the thermostat, a perilous task. Nonsensically the nighttime temperature on the weekend was cooler than that of the week!

Strange mood. Tired but can't sleep and don't want to wake up. Going outside is out of the question. Having some tea, ideal for situations such as this.

To be clear I do not live in English, we do not have a garden, and "English Garden" is not the name of my Wi-Fi. Whilst reading Man in the Landscape: A Historic View of the Esthetics of Nature by Paul Shepherd on the patio early this summer I looked up and realized that that was what I I was looking at –a very civilized landscape indeed.

The new curtains my sister-in-law chose for me are a classic example of something which I would not have chosen for myself, but which look like its always been there. Wavy vertical gold on dark blue.

Made an on-police report about the possible vandalism. Either there's a pattern, or there is not –its all grist for the mill. In any case I'm clearing out Baby Boomer House ASAP.
