AbstractionsAbstractions (@abstractions) • ActivityAbstractions is a podcast about technology, software, hardware, and the Internet, and the way their ever-increasing layers of these technologies permeate every aspect of our everyday lives.

[#Abstractions - Episode 1] Abstract #photography offers the possibility of observing #nature, the surrounding #landscapes, from a new perspective, under a different light - while mastering its #CarbonImpact.

The result is a new series called “Abstractions”. Ultimately, it will be made up of numerous shots taken in familiar locations - less than 15 km from the city of #Revel (Occitanie region, France): culturediff.org/english/ocabst

If you've been in this business long enough, you’ve likely had a phase in your career where you built various #abstractions and #frameworks to help new team members get up to speed quickly. I've enjoyed creating quite a few frameworks myself, with varying levels of success. And I’m more than willing to admit that I've built some pretty #leaky abstractions in an attempt to hide the differences between #SQLServer, #Oracle, and #PostgreSQL. (cont'd)
