@joshg @loriemerson Very cool, what did you play on it?
It's amazing what range these VHF things have with basically zero power and no properly matched antenna. Blasted Genesis in my car stereo across the whole block with what was leaking from such a breadboard on my desk, back in the day ;-D
but pshht don't tell anyone.

@quantensalat
Some 2024 Fixt Music releases, and Emika's latest album, I think
@loriemerson

@joshg @loriemerson just thinking out loud, I wonder if one can do FM by having a timer toggle a gpio pin and using the osc trim as a DAC...

@RueNahcMohr @loriemerson I'm not sure if I follow how the osc trim would work, but usually the root problem is, your output freq will be limited by how fast the gpio can change. this'll be no higher than the CPU clock speed (and probably slower).

you'd also want to filter the output so it isn't noisy on higher freqs, probably? maybe?

[I'm not an RF person]

The idea is that dynamically trimming the cpu oscillator is your FM I think you can get +-25% in some cases.

Yeah, I guess that's possible?
