Alex<p>My youngest has now upgraded to their first full pc. This means they are now leaning in hard to the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/minecraft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>minecraft</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/mod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mod</span></a> community, going so far to spend their pocket money on getting a copy of the java game! We have found the <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/prism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>prism</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/launcher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>launcher</span></a> which seems to integrate the popular modding sites quite well although I'm having to learn about the concept of mod loaders. What i don't know is how well <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/sandboxed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sandboxed</span></a> these mods are. Can they access the wider system or are they limited to certain <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/APIs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>APIs</span></a>? <a href="https://mastodon.org.uk/tags/lazyweb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lazyweb</span></a></p>
Steve Leach<p>Reading up on <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/webassembly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>webassembly</span></a> - I'm *almost* convinced it's perfect for being able to run and share untrusted code that can be <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/sandboxed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sandboxed</span></a> with no means of privilege escalation. Perfect for now but I'm frightened by the direct statements on the website that it is designed for the web. I'm afraid it might sprout features it can't be allowed to have and turn into something DOM bound and dangerous in future versions. I hope I'm wrong 'cause I'd like to go ahead and build around it. Will it stay safe?</p>
Ercanbrack<p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/linuxtablet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linuxtablet</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a> I have seen (and finally understand) the future of Linux! An <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/immutableOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>immutableOS</span></a> running distro-agnostic <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/sandboxed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sandboxed</span></a> packaging formats! I just learned about OS # immutability and all of the puzzle pieces of the future of linux fell into place for me! The future for linux looks absolutely brilliant!!</p>
