foldworks<p>Do you know a pleasing way to colour the 20 faces of a regular icosahedron with 4 colours (so that faces meeting at an edge are different colours)? Or equivalently, can you colour the 20 vertices of a regular dodecahedron with four colours (so that vertices at each end of of an edge are different colours)? <br />You might wonder why use only 4 colours? The reason is that a sample <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/polydron" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>polydron</span></a> pack has 20 equilateral triangles in only 4 colours.<br /><a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/geometry" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>geometry</span></a> <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/mathart" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>mathart</span></a></p>
