Mauve 👁💜<p>Tried out the new <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/bare" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bare</span></a> runtime on Android. Sadly I'm running into issues getting their native modules to load. Apparently there was a fix a few weeks ago but maybe I'm still missing some sort of update in the stack. 🤷 Hopefully I can get it working and get <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hypercore</span></a> into <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/agregore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>agregore</span></a> mobile before localfirstconf next month.</p>
Jared Jennings<p>I just read that nps.gov erased Harriet Tubman from a page about the Underground Railroad. I want not only to <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/archive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>archive</span></a> copies of websites, but to use <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/cryptography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cryptography</span></a> to prove that this was the content fetchable from the real page at a date in the past. <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/provenance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>provenance</span></a> Why aren't there FAQs about how to do this already? I've just seen sciop.net which appears to be using both <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/BitTorrent" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BitTorrent</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/RDF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RDF</span></a> to advantage; and <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/ArchiveTeam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ArchiveTeam</span></a> appears to be doing distributed fetching at scale with their ArchiveWarrior thingy. But how should anyone trust that I don't tamper with the pages I fetch and archive? Or what if I just want free backups, so I pass off my photo archive as part of <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/memoryhole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>memoryhole</span></a> 'd DEI policies? And where's <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/ipfs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ipfs</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/dat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dat</span></a> or <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hypercore</span></a> ?</p>
Mauve 👁💜<p>Made a demo getting <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hypercore</span></a> working in the latest stable <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/Godot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Godot</span></a> release and I'm really happy with how the API is looking so far.</p><p><a href="https://github.com/HyperGodot/hypergodot2/blob/default/example.gd#L65" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/HyperGodot/hypergod</span><span class="invisible">ot2/blob/default/example.gd#L65</span></a></p><p>Next I'll mess more with getting hyper-sdk to run on the Bare runtime so I can get it into <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/@agregore" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>agregore</span></a></span> on Android</p>
Mauve 👁💜<p>For anyone curious, here's the code. It uses the new "Node SEA" method for single executible binaries but with some hacks to get native modules bundled statically and getting it to work with <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hypercore</span></a> This will be the foundation of the new version of HyperGodot.</p><p><a href="https://github.com/RangerMauve/hyper-sdk-rpc/blob/initial/build.js" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/RangerMauve/hyper-s</span><span class="invisible">dk-rpc/blob/initial/build.js</span></a></p>

Looking for a good hole punching implementation and i was told this was a good one. I just tried it out between my laptop (behind university firewall/NAT) and cell phone (on mobile network), and I had one issue connecting, but after an update was able to connect in both directions no problem. No login, no account, no phone number, and allegedly e2e without needing a public server to coordinate the holepunch. need to check out how that's implemented. if this checks out i'm like damn this might be better than Signal (which i love)</p><p>edit: link to app page <a href="https://keet.io/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">keet.io/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> and (minimal) docs <a href="https://docs.holepunch.to/apps/keet.io" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">docs.holepunch.to/apps/keet.io</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

Agregore Browser<p>Hey folks! The 2.0.0 release of <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/Agregore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Agregore</span></a> has been tagged and compiled! This features fixes for <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/MacOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacOS</span></a>, an upgraded <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/Hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hypercore</span></a>-Protocol, and better support for <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/Gemini" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gemini</span></a> when loading it from <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/p2p" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>p2p</span></a> protocols. Mauve 👁💜<p>First, I'm going to create a new <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/hypercore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hypercore</span></a> based website. This used to be called <a href="https://mastodon.mauve.moe/tags/dat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dat</span></a> and I think is now called holepunch.to (all very hard to search for :P ).</p><p>You can find the docs for the protocol handlers here: <a href="https://github.com/RangerMauve/hypercore-fetch/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/RangerMauve/hyperco</span><span class="invisible">re-fetch/</span></a></p>
