The ZX Spectrum was launched 1983 as #Timex Sinclair 2068 computer on the US market. With a #Z80A CPU running on 3.5 MHz this beautiful #homecomputer was capable to draw electric images on a regular telly. With a resolution of 256×192 #pixels even limited to 15 colours it was great for the budget.

Print'n'Plotter sold their #graphics software under the same product name #Paintbox like #Quantel, but for #Sinclair #homecomputers. While #colourClash was a serious limitation in the 80s, it's a #8bit #cgi #glitch effect today available in smartphone camera apps.

Okay, there -- first pass done. github.com/scottlaird/nel-coll is a #NEL (Network Error Log) collector that can listen on HTTP for NEL messages from Chrome, etc and log them to a DB.

It should be at least somewhat DB-agnostic, although I've only tested it with #clickhouse so far.

It also includes otel tracing, which is uglier than I'd like in Go, but seems to be working. I still need to get trace propagation through it to the DB backend working, but I think that's a problem with the backend config, not my code. Probably.

I'm still using #vector for this at home right now; I'll probably cut over tomorrow.

It's #contemporary #design is standing out after 30 years, still. While it was deeply integrated into #MacOS System 7.5, it's not one of their digital #gadgets. This #anniversary seems to be perfect to revisit and redraw some shacky lines and seconds in corporate #history of #AppleComputers.
