Blundell has a questionable journalistic reputation and no background in finance that anyone knows of. It is claimed his substack has factual errors. I don't generally follow him, but this particular substack came to my attention by other means. That said, Carney's first meetings post-becoming-PM were with European heads. And I wonder what planning went on between Canada and other allies in early 2025, behind the scenes, in reponse to the impending tariffs.I believe it's true that countries that hold US bonds have leverage.
