El Duvelle Neuro<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fediscience.org/@Andrewpapale" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>Andrewpapale</span></a></span> I don’t think so. I’m seeing the same thing - all replays don’t necessarily have a detected ripple associated to it, but the tetrodes are definitely able to detect ripples.<br>Of course you could say that my tetrodes are weird as well or that what I’m seeing is theta sequences… But my best guess is that ripples are just so variable that sometimes they are extremely clear and sometimes not.</p><p>Ha, here’s even an example from my <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SFN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SFN23</span></a> poster which is in my corridor right now… you can see that event 603 recruits lots of cells, the raw lfp is really not in theta mode but it comes with a subthreshold ripple. I’ll add the full pic for legend.</p>

I wish she was on here!</p>
Dana Foundation<p>While in Washington, DC, for the Society for Neuroscience’s annual meeting, the Dana Foundation teamed up with the American Brain Coalition, Allen Institute, and NW Noggin to host “Brains, Bagels, Synapses, &amp; Schmears,” a social aligned with the Congressional Neuroscience Caucus. Read about the event here: <a href="https://dana.org/article/congressional-briefing-illuminates-power-of-arts-in-stem/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">dana.org/article/congressional</span><span class="invisible">-briefing-illuminates-power-of-arts-in-stem/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://sciencemastodon.com/tags/SfN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SfN23</span></a> <a href="https://sciencemastodon.com/tags/neurosociety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neurosociety</span></a> <a href="https://sciencemastodon.com/tags/sciart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sciart</span></a> <a href="https://sciencemastodon.com/tags/neuroscience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>neuroscience</span></a></p>
El Duvelle Neuro<p>In <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SFN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SFN23</span></a> discussions I realized people can have very different definitions of “planning”.</p><p>Can we try an experiment? Without looking it up (answers to this post included), can you write down the first definition of “planning” that comes to mind, and then write down your research specialty (if you are a researcher) at the end? There are no wrong answers and anyone can contribute! 🙏</p><p>⬇️🧠💭</p>

jonny (good kind)<p>Wore a mask all through <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SfN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SfN23</span></a>, avoided covid, only to get sick with a normal ass flu for the first time since 2019 and thats just annoying</p>
El Duvelle Neuro<p>I almost forgot about this but check this old <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/HippocampalReplay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HippocampalReplay</span></a> poll which should make more sense now in relation to my <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SFN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SFN23</span></a> poster ⬇️</p><p>From: <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://neuromatch.social/@elduvelle" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>elduvelle</span></a></span><br><a href="https://neuromatch.social/@elduvelle/109966020434094934" translate="no" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">neuromatch.social/@elduvelle/1</span><span class="invisible">09966020434094934</span></a></p>

El Duvelle<p>Anyone found a way to see which of the <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SFN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SFN23</span></a> poster that are in one’s “planner” have an attached poster?<br>So far it seems that the planner and the “virtual component” are independent? 🤔</p>

Not at all late and I’d still appreciate them if they were :)</p><ol><li><p>The replay detection methods are basically like Pfeiffer &amp; Foster 2013 - (2D) memoryless bayesian decoding on place cells putative reactivation events then detection of continuous sequences. The results shown in the poster are for swr-related replay but similar results without that constrain. Happy to share more details!</p></li><li><p>Very good question about the pre-reward replay events, I need to check.</p></li><li><p>Their contents do not seem so different from post-reward replay: strongly biased by goal, not preferring a specific path. But will dig more into it! It could be that they are forward while the postreward are backwards which would fit results from Caitlin Mallory seen at <a href="https://neuromatch.social/tags/SFN23" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SFN23</span></a></p></li><li><p>The mean (or is it median?) of 63 place cells is only for those sessions included in the replay analysis. I had <strong>a lot</strong> more that didn’t make the cut… but I have to say that you can do a lot with relatively small tetrode bundles!</p></li></ol><p>Thanks and don’t hesitate to ask more!</p>
