Kevin Darty<p>PC World's Anders Lundberg has a fun Raspberry Pi project: I built a maxed-out Raspberry Pi 5 PC with an SSD for under $200. adacosta<p>Reading a November 2001 issue of <a href="https://twit.social/tags/PCWorld" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PCWorld</span></a> discussing the upgrade experience for <a href="https://twit.social/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> XP and its surprising reviewers back then were recommending only PC's less than 2 years old should upgrade. Yet, <a href="https://twit.social/tags/Windows11" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows11</span></a> supports some 7th generation processors which date back to 9 years ago. Say what you will, but I think <a href="https://twit.social/tags/Microsoft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Microsoft</span></a>'s compatibility cut off in 2025 is somewhat reasonable. But the issue is, PC's last longer and requirements for <a href="https://twit.social/tags/Windows10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows10</span></a> are the same as <a href="https://twit.social/tags/WindowsVista" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsVista</span></a> 18 years ago.</p>
