Dave Henry<p>You know when you remember someone in your timeline recommending a plugin for an app, then some time later you need to reinstall but can't find the recommendation again?</p><p>I need an <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> that does good Readability checks?</p>
Magnus Hedemark<p>I put some time into organizing my <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/obsidianmd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianMD</span></a> vault more. I'm early enough into using it that this wasn't too painful. I'm basically nudging it more toward keeping my notes organized with the <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/para" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PARA</span></a> method.</p><p>The big ugly part that I'm going to have a harder time reconciling is the public folder where everything under <a href="https://magnus919.com/notes" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://magnus919.com/notes</a> lives. I should have been using slugs in the front matter. That would have helped avoid a lot of pain.</p><p>The other thing I wish I'd thought to do differently: my blog notes use <code>tags:</code> property, but everything else in my vault uses <code>topics:</code>. I might be in for some pain before I get that part sorted to my liking.</p><p>I picked up Tiago Forte's book "Building a Second Brain. And also "Digital Zettelkasten: Principles, Methods, &amp; Examples" by David Kadavy.</p><p>And since I'm using the <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/obsidianplugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> "Apple Books - Import Highlights" my notes and highlights will be in my vault (but now in a subfolder under <code>_3 - Resources</code>).</p><p><a href="https://pompat.us/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/pkm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a> <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/personalproductivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>personalProductivity</span></a> <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/productivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>productivity</span></a> <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/productivitytools" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>productivityTools</span></a> <a href="https://pompat.us/tags/obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a></p>
WetHat💦<p>The story of the Agentic Copilot for Obsidian!</p><p>Born in 2023, this AI plugin for the Obsidian PKM has already amassed over 370,000 downloads by February 2024. With a range of features from integrating AI models to local offline capabilities, Copilot for Obsidian is paving the way for advanced knowledge management.</p><p><a href="https://loganyang.medium.com/building-the-next-generation-personal-knowledge-assistant-for-our-second-brain-c9583db4636c" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">loganyang.medium.com/building-</span><span class="invisible">the-next-generation-personal-knowledge-assistant-for-our-second-brain-c9583db4636c</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> <br> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PersonalKnowledgeManagement" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PersonalKnowledgeManagement</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/ObsidianCopilot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianCopilot</span></a></p>
:jan:‍:abreath:🌬️:dandelion:<p>Hmmm, is there an <a href="https://pagan.plus/tags/ObsidianMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianMD</span></a> plugin(read: rube Goldberg setup) that, when I make a new @ Person note, it will automatically check Wikipedia for a page similar and fill in information from their page and infoblock? </p><p>Also still looking for good Wikipedia importing plugins in general, likely just a good Wikipedia format to markdown importer :BoostOK: </p><p><a href="https://pagan.plus/tags/obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidian</span></a> <a href="https://pagan.plus/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> <a href="https://pagan.plus/tags/obsidianHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidianHelp</span></a></p>

Marc Ochsner<p>Just wanted to brag that I just had an open source pull request I made THREE years ago merged by the maintainer. </p><p>I'm slightly terrified based off how much I've learned about TypeScript since, but honestly the code wasn't as bad as I remember feeling about it (it not getting merged definitely led to that dejected feeling just a lil'..)</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/OpenSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>OpenSource</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a></p>
SynAck aka Little Sunshine <p>For all you <a href="https://corteximplant.com/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a> users out there, I discovered the magic of footnotes, as well as a community <a href="https://corteximplant.com/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> for them that makes them a breeze to use. I was able to use it in a recent preemchro.me post and now that I've discovered them, I AM UNSTOPPABLE!!!</p><p>The plugin is the "Footnote Shortcuts" by Alexis Rondeau and Micha Brugger (just browse the community plugins and search for "footnotes" and you'll find it), and it allows you to set auto-numbered or named footnotes with just a hotkey AND immediately takes you down to the footnote to add the text; hitting the hot key again takes you back to the original spot you were before. Pretty handy!</p><p>Plus, Quartz 4 handles the footnotes by adding a header at compilation time as well as implementing a popup link when you mouse over the footnote tag to show you the footnote without having to scroll down. Again, pretty handy!</p><p>Now I just have to decide if I'm going to use footnotes just for citations or also TODOs and other information, or continue to use notes/info/warning boxes to call out "flavor text". I'll probably end up using a mix depending on how I'm feeling when I write a given essay. </p><p>The options are endless!</p>

Mark Igra<p>What is the best <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>obsidian</span></a> plug-in for fixing the silly way obsidian handles tabs. By default it works like a browser where whatever file I click on in the file tree replaces the current file I'm editing. I want it to work like an IDE where different files open in different tabs and if I click on the same file a second time it goes back to the tab where I originally opened it. It's a terrible default, but some plug-ins that seem to fix it seem overly complicated <a href="https://sciences.social/tags/ObsidianPlugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianPlugin</span></a> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mas.to/@obsidian" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>obsidian</span></a></span></p>
