hkz<p>Well, it seems to be working! Apparently I did not fuck up the redesign!</p><p>For those that just tuned in, the MiniPerformer+ accelerator is just a smaller remix of the <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/Macintosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Macintosh</span></a> Performer reversed by Bolle. This version is dedicated to the <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/MacintoshPlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacintoshPlus</span></a>, especially to be used on the clone I built for myself (thanks to <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://tech.lgbt/@DosFox" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>DosFox</span></a></span> who made it possible).</p><p>It's an accelerator with a ~16Mhz 68030 CPU and an optional 68882 FPU, that's it. No onboard memory, but still a good speed bump for an old machine.</p><p>I'll now test it one or two days, check that it is stable like the rev.1 and release it for all to use!</p><p><a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/macclassic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macclassic</span></a></p>
iotar<p>Everything else has FTPed over to the Minitel/PiDP8i evening stereo without any trouble apart from Floral Shoppe. A problem with the Japanese characters? hkz<p>People of the Fediverse, I need your help!</p><p>To my knowledge, re-creations of the CAS PLD (PAL20L8) floating around the net are not completely functional (some memory combinations are not working), so I started fiddling around with the equations to fix them, testing the results on my clone and with the help of <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://tech.lgbt/@DosFox" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>DosFox</span></a></span></p><p>The end result is a CAS that seems to support all memory combinations, but, while working perfectly for me, kills the audio on DosFox's clone!</p><p>So, anyone with a Plus, willing to try the PLD and tell us what happens on their machine?</p><p>Boosts appreciated for reach!<br><a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/macintoshplus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macintoshplus</span></a> <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/pal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pal</span></a> <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/pld" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pld</span></a> <a href="https://social.chinwag.org/tags/reverseengineering" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reverseengineering</span></a></p>

It's been recapped and has the diode mod for SCSI.</p><p>I was thinking around CAD$50, local Toronto pickup. I can ship but obviously that's riskier and will be at your cost.</p><p>I can include the dead floppy too if you want it.</p>

Davide Bucci<p>And here is the finished keyboard, with still the “6” key cap still missing. Davide Bucci<p>This <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/MacintoshPlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacintoshPlus</span></a> keyboard is one of the dirtiest I have ever seen. Yuck! It needs some TLC.</p>
Davide Bucci<p>I tried to install 4MB of RAM on the <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/MacintoshPlus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MacintoshPlus</span></a> since I have a SCSI hard disk with System 7.5.5 (IIRC). I don’t think it is the best OS choice for this computer (I will go for System 6), but it was just a try. It kind of starts, but then it bombs. I have to find a keyboard cable now (and a mouse btw) to investigate more.</p>
Davide Bucci<p>SUCCESS! The analog board of the Macintosh Plus seems to work fine, now. I will check the disk drive and see if I can boot a system on this neat machine. <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/repair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>repair</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/vintagecomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vintagecomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/vintageApple" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vintageApple</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/retrocomputing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrocomputing</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/macintoshplus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>macintoshplus</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.sdf.org/tags/CompactMac" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CompactMac</span></a></p>
