Turns out AI does perfectly well at playing text adventures. I hooked Google Gemini 2.5 into the famous <a href="https://fed.interfree.ca/tags/Inform" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" class="hashtag" target="_blank">#Inform</a> text adventure Curses, it became obsessed with fiddling around with the torch, got a game over twice for trying to take the gloves from the potting room, then got fed up and quit. Entirely too relatable. Vivienne DunstanDesigning a new <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/interactiveFiction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#interactiveFiction</a> game. Made huge progress with the design yesterday. It's big for me in scale, and pretty ambitious, but exciting at the same time. I'm now pondering the overall game name. Which can be changed if I want to in future, but I'd prefer to settle on it sooner.
